Using Tritech Micron Sonar for ROV successful mission

Working underwater, you often do not have time to switch from one screen to another, you need to see everything at once. In this case, the opportunity to see two images in real-time and on one monitor will help you.

For example, we recently tested it with the underwater ROV RB-300D.

We use Tritech Micron Sonar. It is the smallest digital CHIRP sonar in the world and is ideal for use by small ROVs, as a first-rate obstacle avoidance sonar in miniature form. CHIRP technology dramatically improves the range resolution compared with conventional scanning sonars – it is a feature normally associated with much larger, more expensive systems.

Thanks to our extensive experience with sonar, as well as the software integration of sonar into the firmware of an underwater drone, we were able to display a video image from a sonar on our display.

The first option is picture-in-picture.

During underwater research, we could see at the same time see two images, one from the drone camera and the second from the installed sonar.

The second option – fullscreen view.

Of course, for more detailed information, you can switch to the full-screen image, this is done quickly, just press once of a button on the remote control.

Sure, you can adjust the sonar view mode to 360 degrees and 180 degrees. And get a photo and video recording, for the following reviews or reports.

We can supply ROV as with the already installed sonar, or ready to install yours.

Also, our Surface Unit has an additional port to connect an external computer with Sonar software installed in it.
